Categories of Membership
Only a Dietitian- Nutritionist may become a full member of the Association.
Anyone with a Nutrition and Dietetics degree or equivalent (HND) + PGD and Msc in Nigeria or abroad.
A candidate for membership with foreign Dietetics Associations may be exempted from the membership with foreign Dietetics Associations, and a TOPC may be granted after evaluation of certificates by the Dietitians Association of Nigeria credentialing committee.
Full Membership
Full membership in the Association requires completion of a 12-month dietetics internship in an approved Department of Nutrition and Dietetics/Dietetics and success in the Test of Professional Competence (TOPC).
Corporate Membership
Corporate members are recognised institutions such as research institutes, Companies, firms, Societies, and other bodies that contribute to the furtherance of Nutrition/Human Nutrition and Dietetics
Associate Membership
Anyone with a degree in Nutrition and Dietetics from a Nigerian or foreign university, or equivalent qualifications (HND) with PGD and Msc in Nutrition and Dietetics without internship in dietetics.
Life Membership
Life membership may be conferred on any full member who in the opinion of the council has sufficiently contributed to the attainment of the objectives and aims of the Association.
Student Membership
Student membership is mandatory for all undergraduates of Nutrition/ Human Nutrition and Dietetics
To apply for student membership, provide proof of current tertiary institution registration and a supporting letter from the Head of Department
Honorary Membership
distinguished person may be elected as an honorary member of the Association if in the opinion of the council he/she is in a position to contribute to the aims and objectives of the Association.
